Gradual ascending and descending curves create elegant forms. It is through these curves and the rhythm they provoke that the viewer savors beauty. The human body is complex, composed of a myriad of curves that can  be experienced when working in 3-D. There is no exact formula to map out the human form, one slight movement in one area affects the composition of the whole, challenging the artist to an infinite choice of paths of which only a few are correct. Success of the whole is achieved when the curves flow harmoniously through the hills and valleys of the piece in the same way rhythm flows in a song.
